The OCR for Schools mobile app brings school information and daily tasks to Android and iOS. It uses the same school account, student records, role assignments, campus access, and workflow decisions as the school portal.
The app changes its tabs and available actions for the signed-in role. A student sees their own work, a parent chooses an actively linked child, and staff see the teaching or approval tasks their assignments allow.
Before you begin
- You need an active school account and an Android or iOS installation from a school-approved source.
Sign in with the account for the role you want to use.
-
Install the school-approved app
Use the Android or iOS installation link supplied by the school or its approved OCR distribution channel. Confirm the app name and publisher before signing in.
-
Choose the Schools experience
If the app opens on a product chooser, select OCR for Schools. Higher Education is a separate product with its own academic structure and workflows.
-
Sign in with your own account
Students, parents, teachers, and staff use their own school credentials. A parent should not sign in with a child’s password, and a student should not use a staff account.
-
Open the task for your role
Use the tabs, account area, and notification badge shown for your account. Open a notification to reach the related task, then return to the list to confirm its updated status.
Android and iOS use the same OCR for Schools workflows. Your account and school assignments decide which screens and actions appear.
Role-based app areas
- Student: personal school overview, academics, timetable and attendance, homework, events, and My Leaves where enabled.
- Parent: linked students, each selected student’s academic information, homework, events, and Student Account actions such as My Leaves.
- Teacher: assigned class work, homework creation and review, and attendance tasks where assigned.
- Coordinator, Principal, HR, and other approvers: only the approvals and campus work assigned to their account. A user with more than one assignment may see several relevant tabs.
Android and iOS
The same mobile app features and role rules apply on Android and iOS. The system date format, school policy, and saved status are the same; the operating system may present a different calendar or file picker when you choose a date or attach a document.
Allow the app to open the file picker when attaching a supporting document. If a document is stored in a cloud drive, make sure it is available to the device before submitting.
Refresh and account access
The app loads current school data when a screen is opened or refreshed. A task can be missing if the account is not linked to the relevant student, class, subject, or campus, or if the school has not published it yet.
Parents can access only students actively linked to their parent account. Staff access follows the institution and campus assignments on the account. Contact the school office to correct an account or assignment; do not share passwords.
